Since the mid-90s, attempts have been made to form a national electronic networking association. This situation is not yet resolved, even though a number of recent consultations concerning the use of ICT in the community and 'third' sectors have highlighted the need for some form of coordinated response to government policy and funding initiatives.
In May of last year, the shell of a networking association was established, with the registration of the E-community Networking Association as a registered association in Victoria. ECNA is now an established association.
