Communitybuilders.nsw website is an interactive electronic clearing house for everyone involved in community level social, economic and environmental renewal including community leaders, community & government workers, volunteers, program managers, academics, policy makers, youth and seniors.

It is managed by the NSW Premier's department with many community partners.Its success is twofold:

It provides a wide range of practical community building tools and resources to facilitate community renewal in metropolitan, rural and regional communities.
It has enabled the development of an active online community of people involved in communitybuilding which provides information, support, mentoring and discussion.

The site has gained international recognition and is a leader in the field in Australia. Usage continues to grow with 635,441 hits in 1999 to over 4 million hits in 2001.

The workshop will look at the availability of online tools for community builders and demonstrate the effectiveness and possibilities of networking electronically.
