The E-Commerce Association of Central Victoria has developed innovative ways of raising awareness of e-commerce and engaging the non-user. One example of the association's activities is a competition to get students creating web sites for community groups. The association has joined forces with service club's, including Rotary, Y'sMen International and Lions and obtained sponsorship from the Bendigo Bank, Bendigo Community Telco and the City of Greater Bendigo. Software has also been donated as prizes. The competition which will run from Feb 2002 to June 2002 expects to result in 100 plus community groups going online. The increased awareness of web sites, hosting, electronic marketing, etc is expected to flow to the business sector.
