The Gippsland Community Leadership Program (GCLP) aims to promote growth in the social and economic future of Gippsland through the establishment and development of civic leadership support networks.
The GCLP Program - as well as actively building on the skills and potential of individual participants - will have a major impact on developing a more cohesive and articulate approach to the many complex and challenging issues facing the Gippsland region within the next decade.
The program brings together a wide range of community members to address issues critical to the region. One of the outcomes of this program was the establishment of the Gippsland Education Leadership Program. This program, in its first year, aims to improve links between education and industry, as well as encouraging educators to use lateral thinking to enhance teaching and learning.
This session will provide an overview of the two programs, as well providing a first hand account of the presenter's experience.
